Olympics 2020 Live: Day 11 - 1

Summary

JJ Chalmers presents coverage of day 11, including the women's long jump and men's 400m hurdles finals at 2.50 and 3.20 respectively. Over at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre, Team GB's Jack Laugher competes in the 3m springboard diving semi-final from 2.00. The men's 400m hurdles promises to be a highlight of the Games, with Norway's world champion Karsten Warholm and main rivals Rai Benjamin and Abderrahman Samba pushing each other to new heights in recent seasons. In the women's long jump, the dominance of Germany's Malaika Mihambo could come under threat, with African record holder Esme Brume and Britain's Lorraine Ugen among a group of jumpers in top form this season. Laugher became Britain's first Olympic diving champion when he won the synchronised event with Chris Mears in 2016. He added individual silver back then, and is seeking safe passage to the final of that latter event this morning.
