Episode 4: Bike Patrol

Summary

After the disaster with Nicole's son, Maleek is punished with pushbike duty, while Wendy has to work under Jo's observation. As she experiences a new partner and he finally gets to work alone, they both start to appreciate what they had together. Gary discovers Kareshma has a twin sister working in A&E who is even more ruthless than she is.

Review

Following the man-on-fire incident, a serious complaint is made against south London’s most charming paramedic duo, Wendy and Maleek. Getting off almost scot-free, Wendy (Jane Horrocks) is observed by manager Jo (Lucy Punch), but Maleek (Samson Kayo) is forced to replace his beloved ambulance for a bicycle, taking to the streets armed with a mounted camera, a sturdy watch and, in typically irresponsible fashion, a set of headphones.
Meanwhile, Kareshma (Aasiya Shah) confronts her career shortcomings when she bumps into her over-achieving (and very evil) twin sister, and Jo persists in her quest to woo Lawrence (Julian Barratt).
