Episode 5: Glow Up: Britain's Next Make-Up Star

Summary

The amateur make-up artists are booked for a photo shoot for online retailer ASOS. They are given two hours to showcase their mascara, but also feature a shimmery eye and a glow on the skin, all of which must align with the company's brand identity. Back in the studio, the amateurs create a look that is `out of this world', before the two weakest face off in the elimination. Presented by Maya Jama.

Review

Bald caps and prosthetics have been the downfall of many aspiring MUAs in this competition, but when you’ve been asked to create an “out of this world” look (that’s not too Halloween) there will inevitably be hairless heads and stuck-on bits. Just wait until next week when they’ve got to produce fake wounds and scary bug-eyed monsters.

However, before all their pink aliens and futuristic robots take over the studio, they’re challenged to create an impactful image for an online mascara campaign. It’s harder than you’d think. One competitor jokes she’s been in those face-off chairs so often, she ought to start paying rent.
