Episode 7: Meet the Richardsons

Review

Comedian Jon Richardson is boiling in a stew of jealousy when his wife Lucy Beaumont proves such a local radio hit with co-host Rob Beckett that they’re given a show on Radio 2. It’s just one more thing for Richardson to rail against in a world that doesn’t love him – his Jake Thackray documentary has ground to a halt and his fellow presenter Sally Phillips won’t take his calls.

Meet the Richardsons is a mordant, underplayed treat full of often filthy moments. But there’s a curious skewed warmth about it, particularly when the Richardsons try to pluck up the courage to tell their needy neighbours of their plans to leave Hebden Bridge for London.
