Review

Husband-and-wife comedians Jon Richardson and Lucy Beaumont return for a second series of their sourly believable mockumentary. The conceit that we’re following their tetchy, accident-prone life at home in Hebden Bridge works well when it’s just them on screen, as not all their guest stars can play it as convincingly.

The best bits are their bickering chats in front of the cameras, seated on their sofa merrily slagging each other off and arguing about how she pronounces Boyzone or his uncool clothes. Since Jon predicted a plague and shuns human contact at the best of times, he has warmed to lockdown, while Lucy’s sitcom is going ahead, directed by Johnny Vegas.
