Review

Time to take some big gulps of fresh Monmouthshire air, even if only in your imagination, as the eternally sunny Kate Humble returns to show us more life on her Welsh farm.

She loves walking, as anyone knows who saw her recent Coastal Britain series, also on C5, so her day starts with a quick yomp up a mountain. In this case it’s the Blorenge, where Humble meets a friend (at a distance, of course) and hears about local wildlife.

There are plenty of cheerful glimpses of days on the busy farm owned by Humble and her cameraman husband Ludo Graham. They need a new litter of pigs so an impressively endowed boar called Ted arrives to do his duty, and it’s also time for the sheep to be scanned for signs of pregnancy.

And there are the cookery bits, when Humble bakes a chocolate cake and makes toad in the hole.
