Episode 2: Cop Circles

Summary

Now firmly part of the Paranormal Unit, O'Leary and Minogue are sent to the rural outskirts to investigate sightings of a cow stuck up a tree and find out if aliens are involved.

Review

The fantastical and farcical remain well-blended in this second episode of the horror mockumentary, as the deadpanning Minogue and O’Leary head out into the remote countryside to investigate the case of a cow stuck up a tree.

Pretty soon, the pair are once again making the cops from Police Academy look like Mensa members when they’re outwitted by plant life. But to give our hapless heroes credit, the crops in question are craftier (and possibly deadlier) than they first appear. Luckily, lovable Sergeant Maaka also gets involved and uses a famous line from David Cronenberg’s The Fly to inspire his officers. Though whether he realises it’s actually a movie quote is another matter entirely.
