Summary

American soldier Arnold Whittaker relives his experiences, in a battlefield reconstruction, of the German technique of `air bursting' mortars, which he witnessed at the age of 19. Meanwhile, Gil Nelson remembers his baptism of fire straight after training, when he was subjected to the din of battle and the death of his comrades. Plus, US Army officer Frank Camm explains the Allies' methods for destroying enemy bunkers, and Harley Reynolds discusses his involvement in the D-Day landings in 1944.
