Episode 1: Keeping Faith

Summary

New series. An unwanted visitor returns, set to threaten Faith's future, while the custody battle goes from bad to worse as Evan fights to be granted shared custody. Faith's new law firm is now firmly established, but she is already finding herself at loggerheads with an esteemed local judge. The team's latest clients are the parents of a boy with a brain tumour, who wish to overrule the local hospital trust and seek out a controversial new treatment. Celia Imrie and Sian Phillips guest star in the third series of the legal drama.

Review

Faith Howells, solicitor and wronged wife (nearly ex-wife, in fact),
is back, once again being raucous and wearing her heart on her sleeve.

She’s that kind of woman. Now, you might find her either deeply irritating or deeply irresistible, certainly Faith (Eve Myles) isn’t in the good books of one particular judge who calls her in for a chat, demanding an end to Faith’s “ridiculous emotional outbursts” in the courtroom. Actually, Faith is surprisingly muted during the first stretch of this opening episode in the third and final series, staring moodily out to sea in a lovely big red coat before sorting out child custody arrangements with her faithless, feckless husband Evan (Bradley Freegard).

But soon the old Faith emerges as she and her new law firm take on the case of a father who insists his gravely ill son has an operation that could
kill him
