Summary

Documentary following the singer-songwriter as she balances the demands of a make-or-break tour with writing a new album, launching an acting career and being a first-time mum. Review

Paloma Faith is nothing shy of remarkable. A powerhouse and maverick, she’s one of the few long-standing, successful musicians that have survived the ebb, flow and whims of a fickle industry.

With number one hits around the world, three double-platinum albums and a headline performance at Glastonbury, it would be hard to believe that she’s struggled with the same dichotomy of many women in their 30s. Children or career?

In this frank and stunning documentary, Paloma offers a candid look into her life as both a pop star and a mother. Attempting to balance the duties of a first-time parent with the requirements of her work life proves both challenging and emotional. It’s frustrating and illuminating to see how she is treated by her management team.

She has done beautifully what so many celebrity documentaries fail to do: laid her truth bare. It makes for a poignant, mesmerising watch.
