Episode 9: Mr Octopus and Pottyhands

Summary

The penultimate episode sees Sarah Kendall, Charlotte Ritchie, Jamali Maddix, Lee Mack and Mike Wozniak all still in with a chance of winning Greg Davies's splendid gilded head. Lee has a makeover, Jamali gets destructive with some rubble, and Mike warns Greg's assistant Alex Horne about some potentially dangerous dairy produce. Meanwhile, Sarah is still the one to catch.

Review

Taskmaster often shows us an unsuspected side of popular entertainers. Lee Mack is famous for his quick wit and sitcom skills, but I don’t think you really know him until you’ve seen him wearing a wig and lipstick, reclining seductively on the back of a cow.

That’s one of several strong images in tonight’s penultimate outing. Others include Charlotte Ritchie as an octopus, Sarah Kendall with her hair on backwards, and Mike Wozniak posing hopefully with the world’s worst rainbow.

As ever the show finds the shortest route between glee and humiliation, in this case involving cardboard towers with yogurt on top. “Well done everyone for being so rubbish,” says Greg Davies, summing up so much.
