Review

April got off to a chilly start in Britain, but at Longmeadow it’s chillies of the edible variety that Monty Don is interested in. He’s sharing the progress of the chilli seeds he planted earlier this year, while we also hear from a woman in Dorset who grows chillies from all over the world.

Meanwhile, Joe Swift visits a London courtyard that is an inspiration for those of us struggling with shady gardens, and Nick Bailey learns about the caterpillar that only arrived in Europe in 2007 but is wreaking havoc with our box hedges, and is capable of stripping the leaves of several mature bushes in just a couple of days.
