Episode 6: Dawn Till Dusk

Summary

The team tries to juggle three cases over the course of one day, beginning at 6am when Brooks and Casey are called to a crime scene where a barman has been shot dead in his car. Then, a family dispute leads to murder, and the frenetic morning takes an unexpected turn when an allegation of police intimidation is made against one of the officers. Bradley Walsh and Paul Nicholls star.

Review

Here’s a break from the usual routine, and the best episode for a while. The story isn’t the usual crime-and-punishment two-step but instead follows the progress of a single day in the working lives of our dedicated, misunderstood heroes in the Metropolitan Police and the CPS.

From a dawn patrol that stumbles on a murdered bar worker to a teen accused of stabbing his head teacher, we track each twist of Ronnie, Sam, Jake and Alisha’s day, including some dastardly back-room deals. At the end of it all Ronnie is looking forward to watching West Ham from the comfort of a directors’ box. But something tells me he might not make it.
