Summary

Coast to coast, from Manhattan Island to Manhattan Beach, there's nobody who compares to Larry David when it comes to speaking one's mind, no matter the cost or consequences. That will be hysterically self-evident when the new season of HBO's hit comedy series Curb Your Enthusiasm comes to DVD.

Episode 9: Mister Softee

Summary

An ice-cream van brings back painful childhood memories for Larry - and leads to an embarrassing error during a softball game. He also tries to get Jeff an autographed baseball for his birthday, while Leon discovers an unusual way to get respect. With cameos by former baseball stars Mookie Wilson and Bill Buckner.

Review

It’s amazing how much they pack into one episode: a maniacal mechanic, a fallen hero of baseball, a fabulously indiscreet psychotherapist... they even bung in a burning building! In a deliciously dovetailing Curb Larry David has yet another lovely girlfriend (how does he do it? Oh yes, he writes the show). His prowess, however, is impaired by a childhood trauma about an ice-cream van, aptly named Mister Softee. We also witness one of Curb’s most hilariously OTT moments – involving a loose passenger seat and viper queen Susie.
