Episode 5: Play Your Cards Right

Summary

The comedian continues his run of classic quiz revivals with another game of Play Your Cards Right. Four plucky couples test their luck against the ever-unpredictable deck of cards as they work their way higher and lower through the game, for the chance to win a £30,000 jackpot - but success can rest on the turn of a single card.

Review

We started the series with a celebrity version, but now members of the public get the chance to play the game show of kings (and queens and jacks). Yes, we’re breaking open a fresh pack because Play Your Cards Right is back.
The contestants all have dreams of funding exotic holidays (when they’re going to take these overseas trips is anyone’s guess), but the main attraction is host with the most Alan Carr. Someone should find him a regular TV format rather these one-off revivals – perhaps he’d be the person to make a new version of The Generation Game work… with his Radio 2 mucker Mel Sykes as co-presenter?
