Episode 1: Field Trip

Review

Although initially derided by many critics when it first aired, The Inbetweeners ballooned into a cultural phenomenon in the late noughties. Tucked away on E4, it gained a dedicated following for whom Will, Jay, Neil and Simon’s growing pains were all too familiar.
Series two, repeated in its entirety tonight on Channel 4, features many of the show’s funniest and most memorable moments. There’s the Swanage field trip (“feisty one you are”), the arrival of French exchange student Patrice, and the infamous night out in London that begins with Jay’s unprintable exclamation directed at bus passengers and ends in Simon’s car being clamped and him having to call his dad for help. Again.
