Review

How much milk would you say goes into making a bar of chocolate? If you answered a glass and a half, you’d be wrong. Kate Quilton discovers that milk in its liquid form makes the ingredients separate in a most unattractive way, so manufacturers use milk powder – or in the case of one independent company, rice powder – to give your chocolate bar that familiar creamy texture.

Meanwhile, Matt Tebbutt and Andi Oliver are investigating a “wee issue” (this programme does love its puns), namely why is it that eating asparagus makes some people’s pee rather pungent? And, even more intriguing, why is it that not everyone can smell it?
