Episode 3: Live at the Apollo

Summary

Man Like Mobeen star Guz Khan hosts the stand-up showcase recorded before a packed house at London's Hammersmith Apollo. On the bill are Kiri Pritchard-McLean and Rhys James.

Review

If you’re finding this week’s Live at the Apollo host Guz Khan oddly familiar, you might know him from his acting work in Man like Mobeen, Turn Up Charlie or the Four Weddings and a Funeral TV series – or, more likely, that recent crisps campaign where he played the Spice Girls’ biggest fan.

But in an entertaining opening set, Khan shows that he’s a versatile performer, as funny on his feet as he ever is working from a script as he delivers a punchy set playing off British prejudices as well as his struggles with fatherhood. And if he’s not enough, guests Kiri Pritchard-McLean and Rhys James are sure to tickle your funny bone.
