Review

Celebrity superfans queue up to tell us what the indomitable Duran Duran mean to them in this fun retrospective, first shown in June 2018. No doubt you’ll be lost in your own memories of some terrific songs… Ordinary World, Save a Prayer and Rio, with that video of the lads in suits on a yacht.

Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, John Taylor and Roger Taylor are a cheery quartet (there’s no sign of Andy Taylor, who left mid-tour in 2006, except in archive footage), and the band are still working and still successful after 40 years. Yes, I know, 40. So what’s the secret of their remarkable staying power? The charming John Taylor ascribes it to “something we have when we are together that’s worth showing up for”.
