Review

It would comfortably use up the rest of this page to summarise the plotlines sparking and fizzing across tonight’s instalment. Some previous episodes of this satire on Hollywood have, if you’re being really picky, been a little light on story. Not this one: it’s as if all the clocks the writers have been winding up start chiming at once.

As black comedy goes, it doesn’t get much blacker, as the collision of drug cartels and film studios causes collateral damage. Special mention should go to Owen, the struggling actor making do in Hollywood by cheerfully turning tricks for (gay) stars in their trailers. In a lovely tangent we see a flashback to Owen’s life on an Iowa farm, as he decides to leave for Hollywood, full of hope.
