Review

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Claire Goose returns as Jane Kennedy, the nosy Devon coroner who just can’t resist investigating every suspicious death as if she were a copper. And there are a lot of deaths in the lovely coastal town where she lives. It’s like Midsomer-on-Sea at times.

In the first episode (the series is stripped through the week), she and DS Davey Higgins (Matt Bardock) are called in to probe a sudden death. Rafe Phelps (David Corbett), the chief instructor at a skydiving school, plunges to his death after both his parachutes failed to open.

It turns out the chutes were sabotaged, but who would want to kill him? Or did he commit suicide?

While the plotline is a little thin, the main characters are likeable, the scenery is as lovely as anything you get in Doc Martin, and Rafe’s gorgeous clifftop home is straight out of Grand Designs.
