Summary

The evil Imperatrix is no more - killed when she terminated the robotic weapon which shared her life force. With her gone, Negatus now answers to no-one and can seize control of Yonderland for himself. But with the return of a previously imprisoned envoy for the council of Elders, Cuddly Dick (Stephen Fry) he has his own plan to seize control of Yonderland for himself.

Episode 5: Yonderland

Summary

Debbie and the Elders attempt to break Negatus out of jail on their way to confront Cuddly Dick about the mysterious disappearance of Yonderland's citizens.

Review

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Hooray! Anthony Head is back – as Pete’s dad Nigel – in an episode where Pete suspects his wife Debbie of trying to scupper their house sale. Wearing her other hat as Yonderland’s Chosen One, Debbie suggests springing Negatus from jail to help them overthrow the evil new regime (fronted by Stephen Fry, who seems to have taken a sabbatical this week).

It’s another escapade dotted with funny and startling moments. They include a terrific gag about a bribe-friendly prison warder, a grotesque mutant inmate and a genuinely superb bit of emotional acting from Anthony Head that stops you in your tracks.
