They begin by searching for the authentic flavours of Italy, from simple local ingredients to spicy nduja pate and some of the best gelato around.

Good old Si King and Dave Myers are back with a new series, perfectly timed to shore up that resolution to bin the selection box and eat more healthily. This time they’re driving around Sardinia, Corsica, France, the Balearics and Spain, discovering the secrets of the Mediterranean diet.

They begin their culinary odyssey in mainland Italy where they learn how the cuisine was influenced by the ancient Greeks, whip up a frittata with one of the world’s most expensive onion, and sample cucina povera, which uses cheap, simple, local ingredients. The food looks great; the sunshine looks even more delicious.
