Never compose a sermon after you’ve been drinking Advocaat. That’s one of the life lessons in this second set of dispatches from Dibley, where we once again drop in on the Rev Granger, preaching to her congregation via Zoom. In August Geraldine is so delighted to be allowed out into the countryside that she breaks into song, Julie Andrews-style. (She is being filmed striding into the village by Owen, whose camerawork isn’t quite as focused as it might be.)
By September, Geraldine is more reflective, as she remembers her much-missed verger, Alice. Anyone whose final wish was to have her coffin carried into church by six people dressed as Peppa Pig will surely never be forgotten.
Summary
Local election fever hits the village and Geraldine finds she is a more popular candidate with the voters than over-confident parish council chairman David. Richard Curtis's comedy, starring Dawn French and Gary Waldhorn.
