The first to be profiled is British Second World War fighter ace Douglas Bader, who lost his legs in a flying accident in 1932, but eight years later led a squadron in the Battle of Britain, helping the Allied forces to victory over the Luftwaffe. Presenter Michael Ashcroft analyses the tactics he deployed during the encounter, and examines the technology that enabled him to take to the skies again.
