Review

Brydon's madcap approach to the chat show format is amplified for his Christmas show. To the frantic sound of Balkan jazz-funk band Alejandro Toledo and the Magic Tombolinos, a breathless half-hour programme gets through four disparate guests, all unveiled via the revolving bookcase (part of the fun is wondering who on earth will be next, but put it this way: they're not A-list) before undergoing an incredibly short interview.

There's even time for stand-up comedian Charlie Baker and some chat with the audience, who are all in fancy dress. There's some dancing, too.

It aims to resemble a Christmas party. In being awkward but ultimately fun, I suppose it does.

Summary

Rob celebrates Christmas with an eclectic line-up of guests. Joining him are funnyman Noel Fielding, Girls Aloud's Sarah Harding, Kiwi comedian and Flight of the Conchords actor Rhys Darby and Shooting Stars' Angelos Epithemiou. Comedian and Let's Dance for Comic Relief winner Charlie Baker fills the stand-up slot and there is music by Alejandro Toledo and the Magic Tombolinos.
