Review
There’s much excitement at Mathewson’s car auctioneers in North Yorkshire over the prospect of a very Sweeney-ish 1974 fully restored Mark 3 Cortina 2000E.
There’s a bit of a problem, though, as its owner isn’t sure he wants to get rid of it. This is all down to what he calls “the management”. “My wife didn’t want me to buy it, but now she doesn’t want me to sell it.” Ah, women, they are such a problem in Bangers and Cash, always putting the brakes on men’s hopes.
There’s a mix of pre-Covid and Covid-restricted auctions, including one where technophobe auctioneer Derek Mathewson must get used to online bids and an almost empty saleroom.
