Review

It’s mid-March, the height of the lambing season, and Ravenseat Farm in the Yorkshire Dales is in lockdown.
The Our Yorkshire Farm film crew isn’t allowed on the farm, so principal photography is down to the Yorkshire Shepherdess herself, Amanda Owen, using her phone.
But she has a number of assistants among her nine children, notably four-year-old star of the show Clemmy, who peers pensively into the wrong end of the lens.
It’s a busy time, of course, and Amanda heads to the hills with her kids to check on lambing. But, as ever in this admirably unsentimental series, the children understand that Nature is not always kind.
Lessons in the outdoors and practical biology… it all looks so idyllic. As the family heads off into a stunning Yorkshire sunset, let’s hope they return soon.

Summary

The family tackles life in lockdown, just as lambing season gets into full swing. Violet and Clemmy help to deliver some new additions to the flock, while Sydney heads out onto the moors on a mission to save a vulnerable newborn lamb. Amanda seeks to document their daily lives under lockdown with a video diary, enlisting the kids as camera crew - which results in an unusual toddlers' eye view of the farm. As the temperature rises in the spring, the family takes advantage of the good conditions to go horse riding and wild swimming.
