Review

Matt Baker is always keen to get stuck in on his Countryfile visits, so it’s no surprise to find him out on the water with the harbourmaster of Chichester, West Sussex, doing his daily rounds.

Back on dry land, co-presenter Anita Rani is finding out about the local wildlife, in particular the agile terns, who have traditionally used the local area as a breeding site, only now to find their population under threat thanks to tidal flooding.

And there’s a word of warning for the emotionally fragile: away from the south coast, Adam Henson will reveal the legacy of Archie the Highland bull, whose farewell episode last December reduced viewers to horrible tears.

Summary

Matt Baker and Anita Rani visit Chichester Harbour, the only Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the UK that is managed by a harbour authority, discovering how the needs of a very busy harbour are balanced with those of nature and wildlife. While Matt is out on the water doing the daily rounds with the harbour master, Anita finds out about projects helping to protect local populations of oysters, terns and seals. Plus, Adam Henson's Highland bull Archie might not have long left the farm, but his legacy lives on.
