Extraordinary Escapes with Sandi Toksvig

Series 1 - Episode 4

Review

For someone who is – as she often mentions - vertically challenged, Sandi Toksvig stands head and shoulders above every celebrity TV traveller. And heaven knows, there are lots of them at the moment. Amiable, occasionally silly and a fount of knowledge, she exudes positivity while happily embracing the limitations of age. “Give me an hour and I might be able to get off this bed,” she chuckles.

For the last programme, she’s in the Cotswolds with an equally jolly companion - “the legend that is Prue Leith” - relaxing in a luxury tree house, a very surprising gamekeeper’s cottage and a glamorous party house. A second series, please.

Summary

The presenter explores the UK's wildest, most remote and beautifully designed holiday homes, accompanied by some of the nation's most fascinating and funny women. In the final episode, Sandi is joined by her close friend and The Great British Bake Off judge Prue Leith to explore some of the best staycations in the Cotswolds. The pair visit a luxury tree house, a striking home made from glass, and colourful and chic home designed by Kate Moss.
