Robert Bathurst has already expressed his fears that this will be it for Cold Feet, commenting: “It’s not my decision, but if we are finishing, I hope we’ve given ITV a very difficult decision to make. It could well be the end.” The last episode of this latest run was still being edited at the time of writing, so I can’t say whether there is an air of finality to it. What we do know, though, is that Adam and Karen will face a big dilemma, while Jen is heading to hospital for a mammogram – the first since her cancer treatment. Please let there not be any emotional upset. If this truly is the end, we deserve an upbeat send-off.

Summary

Adam and Karen's future is thrown into jeopardy by an unexpected offer, and David is in turmoil over his growing feelings for Robyn. While Jenny braces herself for her first mammogram after her treatment for cancer, Pete helps their son Adam realise his dream. John Thomson, James Nesbitt, Fay Ripley, Hermione Norris and Robert Bathurst star in the concluding instalment of the ninth season of Mike Bullen's long-running comedy drama, with guest appearances by Frances Barber and Paul Ritter.
