Review

It should be a Marvel-lous show tonight because Iron Man Robert Downey Jr is stopping by for a chat. He’s not talking about comic-book superheroes, though, but about Dolittle, a fantasy adventure about the animal-loving Victorian featuring, among others, the voices of Rami Malek, Ralph Fiennes and Emma Thompson (she joins Downey on the red sofa).

Plus there’s Norton favourite Hugh Laurie, who’s always good value. His performance in Armando Iannucci’s genial The Personal History of David Copperfield marks a return to his Bertie Wooster persona, so hopefully he’ll have some entertaining stories to tell. And former Python Terry Gilliam chats about his film The Man Who Killed Don Quixote.

Summary

The host is joined by Robert Downey Jr and Emma Thompson, stars of the big-screen fantasy adventure Dolittle, while Hugh Laurie discusses his role in The Personal History of David Copperfield. Monty Python's Terry Gilliam chats about his film The Man Who Killed Don Quixote, while American singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles performs She Used to Be Mine, from her musical Waitress. Plus, another bunch of intrepid audience members willing to recount an anecdote from the dreaded red chair.
