Review

Sean Fletcher and Helen Skelton are in the North East, in the Tees Valley, to take in the wonders of the Tees Barrage, a massive civil engineering project that opened in 1995 in Stockton-on-Tees. Its primary function is to prevent flooding and control water flow but the barrage has since become a major tourist attraction as a flourishing water sports venue. Helen Skelton has a go at white-water rafting on the nearby course with Olympic kayakers. She also sees how the barrage has improved the chances of wildlife at the mouth of the River Tees.

Meanwhile at his Cotswolds farm, Adam Henson says a sad farewell to one of his favourite animals.

Summary

Sean Fletcher and Helen Skelton explore the Tees Valley, while Tom Heap investigates whether enough is being done to protect UK farming and food production from flooding.
