Series 15 - Episode 7 Finland Advertising

Review

It’s the advertising task, so the teams must develop a digital billboard to show at Piccadilly Circus and a short TV advert, all in aid of promoting tourism to Finland.

Simple enough – except that the sub-teams doing the ad and the team doing the billboard are split up with, as Jeremy Paxman would say, no conferring… Not to worry, this would-be director has a clear vision of how the ad should look: “You know, something that says, like – ahh – I want to be there!” Right, that sort of tourism ad.

While one candidate flaunts his chest tattoos and another says “Bosh!” a lot in a way that suggests saying “Bosh!” settles all arguments, the people of Finland give silent thanks that it’s only a game.

Summary

This week, the candidates are tasked to create advertising campaigns to entice people from the UK to visit Finland during the summer months. Half the team head to Finland to film an advert for television, whilst the others create a marketing campaign and a digital billboard to be displayed at London's Piccadilly circus. Next, the candidates pitch their campaigns to leading industry experts, including the Head of Tourism for Finland. Back in the boardroom, one of the candidates leaves the competition.
