Intelligence

Series 1 - Episode 3

Review

It would have been tempting to desert Intelligence after the second episode but resist the urge: episodes three and four definitely pick up and are worth sticking with. GCHQ is tasked with working through the night when all the NHS systems go down after being hacked by a virus. As ever, Jerry (David Schwimmer is brilliant at playing it straight as an arrogant and idiotic NSA maverick) is convinced he’s identified the cyber-terrorist. When no-nonsense Chris asks, “What if you’re wrong?”, Jerry replies: “I don’t think that’s physically possible.”

Meanwhile episode four sees a new hotshot hacker being brought into the fold, leaving Joseph (the also-excellent Nick Mohammed) feeling sidelined and left out.

Summary

Christine announces that the NHS servers have been hacked, and the whole team is forced to work through the night. But finding the methods too tedious, Jerry directly goes against Christine's orders and takes matters into his own hands, coerces the rest of the staff into tracking down the culprit his way.
