Review

As Rick tells us, the Spanish word “duende” is difficult to define. It has to do with a heightened state of emotion often connected with flamenco, but our culinary guide doesn’t need Andalucian music to come over a bit duende himself as he’s seemingly transported to heaven and back after a single sliver of Iberian ham is placed on his tongue.

Luckily, he manages to calm down at the home of Chris Stewart, original drummer with Genesis and author of the bestselling Driving over Lemons. He’s had a few wild boars trampling his vegetable patch, but has come up with a solution, so Rick’s able to sample some tasty wild boar stew.

Summary

The chef heads for the region of Extremadura, famous for paprika and Iberico ham. He then concludes his exploration of the country by driving south in his camper van to the city of Seville - the capital of tapas and flamenco.
