Review

Hunted – the reality game where contestants pretend to be fugitives, pursued by cops who are armed with all the latest tracking and surveillance tech – is well suited to a charity version with famous people. You can put aside concerns about how stage-managed the whole thing is and enjoy, for instance, Boris Johnson’s dad Stanley claiming to have experience as a spy, but then making a series of laughably basic errors such as buying petrol with a credit card.

Johnson Sr and his partner, 2017 I’m a Celebrity… winner Georgia Toffolo, dominate an opening episode that also features Jean-Christophe Novelli chartering an aircraft, two Towie stars posing as students, and rugby players Gavin Henson and Martin Offiah bickering in a north Wales holiday cottage.

Summary

Eight famous faces turn fugitive and attempt to evade capture for 14 days, all in aid of Stand Up To Cancer. Taking part are former rugby internationals Gavin Henson and Martin Offiah, chefs Aldo Zilli and Jean-Christophe Novelli, ex-Made in Chelsea star Georgia Toffolo and the Prime Minister's father Stanley Johnson, along with The Only Way Is Essex's Lydia Bright and Lucy Mecklenburgh. Stanley might have had real-life experience in the intelligence services, but his 24-year-old partner Georgia is soon questioning his spy credentials as they are cornered by the Hunters in Birmingham New Street station.
