If you haven’t listened to the BBC’s Brexitcast podcast, that may be because you can’t imagine needing to hear more on Brexit than already fills news bulletins.

Fine, but wait, because the beauty of the podcast format is that it allows a quick, gossipy chat where we get to hear the likes of Laura Kuenssberg and Katya Adler cast off the straitjacket of news and sound more as if they were arguing with friends in the pub.

It’s not quite a formal two-way with Huw Edwards, but it’s just as insightful. Whether all that will work in a TV version, we’ll have to wait and see. It follows straight after the start of a new series of Question Time, with Fiona Bruce.

Summary

New series. When Andrew Neil decided to step down from This Week back in July, the BBC decided that rather than continue with a new host, they would find a different show to take its place. And here it is - although fans of Radio 5 Live will already be familiar with Brexitcast, which has become hugely popular since its launch in 2017. This TV version sees the same team, Laura Kuenssberg, Katya Adler, Adam Fleming and Chris Mason, engaging in light-hearted gossip about all the latest goings-on in the process to leave the EU.
