Review

It’s 20 years since Jamie Oliver burst into our lives, sliding down the banisters of his trendy flat and nipping through the streets of London on his scooter before – bish bash bosh – knocking up a fabulous meal for his cool friends. The fresh-faced Essex lad turned TV cheffery on its head and made cooking FUN.

Since then there’s been countless more TV shows, cookery books, restaurants and some tireless campaigning to halt child obesity. This doc charts his rise from his discovery (in the background of a 1997 doc about the River Café) to his multimillion-pound food business empire and the recent closure of his restaurant group.
