Review

It’s hard to believe The Big Bang Theory has finally exploded after 12 series, but the good news is that the franchise persists in the form of spiffy prequel Young Sheldon. And it has a lot going for it, not least an ensemble that gets my vote for the best on the box: from Iain Armitage as the child prodigy himself to Annie Potts as his sassy grandma Connie, the show is sublimely cast.

Young Sheldon satisfyingly ends its second series (the show has been renewed for at least two more seasons) by echoing a major plotline of its parent series. In this case, Sheldon invites the school to a Nobel Prize announcement party – while Georges senior and junior clash over cable TV.

Summary

The young genius invites the entire school to a party for the Nobel Prize announcements. Meemaw learns more about Dr Sturgis's past and Georgie's desire for cable TV leads to a stand-off between him and George Sr.
