Review

The title slightly punctures the big reveal of this documentary, which reopens the cold case surrounding Casimir Pulaski, the Polish-born nobleman who is known as the father of the US cavalry. Pulaski came to north America to join the revolutionary cause in 1777; he was killed in battle two years later.

Two decades ago, during renovations on a monument to Pulaski in Savannah, Georgia, what were assumed to be his remains were exhumed – except the bones looked female. Investigations stalled when DNA tests proved impossible, but a new taskforce was set up in 2015; it’s their discoveries that are profiled here, in bombastic fashion.

Summary

New DNA tests reveal that Polish-born General Pulaski known as 'the father of American cavalry' and probably saved George Washington's life, was most likely intersex.
