Summary

Beneath an ancient church in Gravesend, Kent, lies the remains of a native American princess, Pocahontas. Her relationship with the English adventurer John Smith has been described as a romance that united two warring cultures. She spawned a Disney fairytale, but the real story is a tale of kidnapping, starvation, ocean journeys and manipulation of history.
