Review

An entire kitchen showroom-full of sinks was thrown at the first live show of The Greatest Dancer and yet, well, something still isn’t quite clicking. In principle, this isn’t a bad show, but quite apart from the excessive padding, the finer details of the format lack cohesion. Take the themed routines, for example: incorporating “chairs” and “stairs” does make sense, but a Doctor Who theme? It’s baffling. Also, and it’s a small bugbear, Jordan Banjo, despite being utterly lovely, needs to stop saying “smashed it” in every other sentence.

Tonight’s semi-final will see a further two acts leave, with four dancers making it to next week’s final. Whether many viewers will still be watching by then remains to be seen.

Summary

Alesha Dixon and Jordan Banjo host a dancing contest, with performers from a variety of styles competing to impress the viewing public and win a chance to showcase their skills on Strictly Come Dancing. This time, the remaining six acts take to the stage for the last live Challenge Show, and are tasked with creating an unforgettable performance with the help of their Dance Captain.
