Review

One big way in which The Voice UK has always differed from The X Factor or Britain’s Got Talent (apart from inviting only genuinely talented singers to audition, of course) is that, up until now, the show has only been open to soloists and duos. But this year, there’s been a slight tweak to the format that means the competition is also now open to trios.

This will hopefully mean a wider range of artists auditioning, while giving coaches Tom Jones, Jennifer Hudson, will.i.am and Olly Murs an even tougher time trying to work out how many singers are standing behind them in the Blind Auditions, which continue tonight.

As ever, Emma Willis will be on standby with hugs of encouragement.

Summary

Emma Willis hosts the second instalment of the Blind Auditions, in which celebrity coaches Will.i.am, Jennifer Hudson, Olly Murs and Sir Tom Jones seek out the nation's best vocal talent. But there is a simple twist - with the four coaches selecting their teams through `blind auditions', looks play no part in the selection process, meaning each singer is chosen on vocal ability alone.
