Review

“I want to shine a light on the moments when history changed for ever,” explains Tony Robinson before fast-forwarding through all sorts of important places, events and periods. It’s a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it history lesson as he zips through stories of oppression, injustice and discrimination and the rebels who made a stand against them.

In the twinkling of an eye he moves from Queen Boudicca’s violent rebellion against the invading Romans in AD 60 to Kate Sheppard’s campaign to win women the vote in New Zealand in the 1880s and the site of the first gun shot to be fired just two hours after war was declared in 1914.

Summary

The presenter journeys through time to uncover why some people will stop at nothing to get what they desire, before exploring the ingenuity that led to feats of invention.
