Review

Arctic chiller Fortitude returns for a third and final series – a slimline four-parter – and judging by this opening episode it’s going to be a sedate and tranquil farewell. Sorry, no, wait – it’s as mad and intense as ever.

After the lynching of governor Erling Munk, Richard Dormer’s sheriff Dan Anderson is preparing to defend the town from outside forces – but he’s not too busy to get high on psychedelic reindeer urine and take a spin round the living room with the charred torso he keeps in a duffel bag.

This is also likely to be the only series this year containing the statement “I’ll be pupating when you get home”. Yes, it’s good to be back in Fortitude.

Summary

Oslo send two new officers to attempt to make some sense of the anarchy in Fortitude, and Dan Anderssen continues his descent into madness, bringing him face to face with a grief-stricken Michael Lennox.
