Eisteddfod 2019 with Jason Mohammad

Series 1 - Episode 1

Jason Mohammad is your guide to one of Europe’s largest cultural festivals, with performances and competitions encompassing music, dance, literature and visual arts. Llanrwst in Conwy played host this year, which gives Mohammad – a fluent Welsh speaker – the chance to investigate the old story about the market town supposedly attempting to declare independence and join the UN Security Council in 1947.

His round-up – the festival finished on Saturday – will also include artworks by the gold medal winners in various categories, a visit to the impressive temporary modern art exhibition Lle Celf, and chats with festival honourees Jonathan Davies, Ken Owens and Tudur Owen.

Part one of two. The presenter reports from Llanrwst in the Conwy Valley, bringing highlights and stories from the National Eisteddfod of Wales. He catches up with Welsh rugby stars Jonathan Davies and Ken Owens, as well as broadcaster and comedian Tudur Owen, who are all being honoured at the Eisteddfod this year.
