In mid-60s Nevada, teenager Pat Greenaway (India Eisley) is a bit of an outsider. A mixed-race child adopted by black parents, she has little information about her origins. But when she does find out who she is – including that her real name is Fauna Hodel – it’s not long before she’s off to LA to meet her gynaecologist grandfather George. There are heavy hints that this might not be a good idea. Over in LA, down-at-heel journalist Jay Singletary (Chris Pine) also has reason not to trust George.
Inspired by a true story about the notorious 1940s Black Dahlia murder in Los Angeles, this is a stylish affair from Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins, and Pine is electric as the troubled Jay.
