Review

Forget suspending your disbelief – you’ve got to misplace it entirely to enjoy (I use the term lightly) this bizarre new dating show.

In short: a couple who want to test and/or reinvigorate their relationship both undergo “amnesia hypnosis”, so they forget each other. They then go on three dates, two with strangers, and one with their partner (who – keep up – they’ve forgotten is their partner). Will they still choose each other?

This opening episode sees wannabe vloggers George, 24, and Lucy, 20, who have been together for four years, attempt to reignite their spark. Yes, it’s very silly, but, more unforgivably, it’s just a bit boring.

Summary

Dating show with a twist, as a couple who are looking to recapture the excitement of falling in love meet hypnotist Aaron Calvert, who makes them temporarily forget each other. Lucy and George go out on dates with two other people who match what they are looking for in an ideal partner. They also meet each other, as if for the first time, to find out whether they might fall in love all over again. Will sparks fly once more, or will Lucy and George find more chemistry with one of their new dates?
