Britain's Got Talent Final

Britain's Got Talent Final

Series 12

Review

Before this series began, Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon said this year would prove to be the “battle of the singers”. Indeed, for a programme so proud of its variety credentials, many of the memorable and talented performers this year have been vocalists, including four out of the five Golden Buzzer acts. A question I never thought I’d ask, but where were all the dancing dogs this year?

Now the finalists who were voted through from last week’s live semi-finals will be returning for the last time, hoping to win not only the whopping prize money (£250,000 last year), but also a spot on the bill at the Royal Variety Performance.

It’s been an enjoyable, but perhaps not vintage, series — so far, at least. As RT went to press, the live shows had yet to begin. Let’s hope there’s life in the old dog yet.
